Nice Account
I have been an ING customer for 3 years now and I have always had a great experience banking with them. Their CDs are nice because they offer some of the highest rates around and if your CD is about to mature, they offer you a bonus on your interest rate if you roll over to another CD. It's really a great account if you don't have a lot to start with, since there is no minimum to open a CD and you will earn the same high interest even if you don't have a lot of money in your CD. I also like how easy it is to link these CDs to your other ING accounts and to your external checking account.

Very Easy to Use
In an effort to begin setting up a ladder of cds, I decided to buy a cd through ING Direct. Since I already had a savings account with ING, it was very easy to purchase the cd. I was given the option to have the interest from the cd compound into the cd or be disbursed each month into my savings account. This makes it very easy to use their cd as a savings mechanism, but also also one to receive some income from the savings device. The ING website will list the current rates. When I purchased my cd, there did not appear to be a minimum amount needed to invest. It takes very little time to set it up online. The cd can be set up to automatically roll-over at the end of the term or it can be transferred into a separate account. The cd can be redeemed early with the penalty only three months interest. On the web site, the account page will always show how much interest has been earned to date, paid year to date, paid in the previous year, and what the early redemption value would be today. I would greatly recommend a cd through ING Direct as ING makes it easy to save.

Way to Save!
In July of 2007 I began taking notice of a great deal of advertisements for ING Direct's online savings accounts and CDs. Several months prior to this, I commenced my search for an accessible, practical and financially beneficial CD account. ING offers a multitude of choices with different annual percentage yield rates depending on how long you want to save your money with them. I was able to sign up as a first time banker with ING for a 12 month CD account with an APY of 3.45%! I have been earning a nice sum of money thanks to their generous rates. The minimum investment requirement to open up a CD with them was a practical $1. Moreover, if need be, the CD was easily accessible for transferring funds to and from my checking account. ING's customer service associates are fully competent and will never give you the run around. Signing up and verifying my checking and savings account took minutes. Finally, if you roll over your CD after the maturity date, you are eligible for a roll over bonus along with high APY rates that stay locked in for a minimum of three months! Deciding on the worst aspect regarding ING's CD account is the fact that although you may sign on with a high APY, it may change (with notice of course) and decrease after the first several months. However, the main point of recommendation that I want to communicate here is ING's APYs are by far the highest out there. Rather than letting your money accumulate and earn pennies in your regular savings account, why not sign up with ING's CD account and let your money do the work for you. The convenience, honesty, and overall security that ING is devoted to maintaining has made them an excellent choice for todays online bankers.

Couldn't Be Happier
What a bank!!! Almost 4 years ago, I opened my first one year CD in the amount of $4,000 with ING Direct. Over that period, I have renewed that first CD four times. Each time, the rate may fluctuate from the previous time, but it is always a rate 4-5 times the national average.
I initially opened the account because I was seeking a means of getting higher interest rates than my local bank. I was amazed that an internet bank could offer such a higher rate than my own "brick and morter" bank I have used for years. But they did.
Over these four (4) years, I have had to call on occasion and speak with a customer service representative on the telephone. So far, they are always spoken perfect English, are always quick to handle my transaction, and have never ended a call without thanking me for my business. That means even more to me than the great interest rates.
As a man who owns multiple businesses and maintains several bank accounts, people are always asking me what banks I recommend. Although I have funds in seven (7) different banks, I always recommend ING Direct for the beginner or experienced saver.
When you consider the interest rates, the customer service, and the benefits offered, there is not a better bank around today.
