Is BankFox a free service?

Yes. We don’t charge you to browse our site, register, or receive email alerts. BankFox supports itself by displaying advertisements on our site.

What information do I need to register for BankFox?

The only information we require when your register for BankFox is your email, zip code, and for you to select a password. We ask for your email so that we can contact you and so that we have a unique way to identify you. We ask for your zip code because certain bank account information like rates and fees may vary by geography. We ask for a password so that only you have access to change your information.

Do I need to enter my bank account number to get email alerts about my bank?

No. BankFox does not watch your individual account but rather follows the general offerings of each bank. Thus, when you register for an alert, we simply ask you to select the bank and account name from a list of accounts that we cover. This method not only protects your privacy, but also allows you to follow banks and accounts that you don’t use but are considering.

How does BankFox get its data about banks?

We’ve built proprietary technology and processes for gathering information ourselves and also get additional data from third-party sources which are publicly available or with which we have partnerships. Although we can’t guarantee that our data is always 100% accurate, our sources and methodology generally result in correct, rapidly updated information.

Will BankFox share my information with advertisers?

No. We don’t believe that advertisers should ever see the personal information you share with us, and although we let them purchase advertising to display on our site, we will never sell or divulge the personal information you provide us to them. How do I change my information or unsubscribe?

Any personal information you provide us can be edited or removed at any time by signing in and clicking on the My Account link at the top of every page. Here you can change your email address, update your password, remove alerts, and more.

How do I login if I forget my password?

You can reset your password if you forget it. We’ll send the new password to the email address you signed up with to create the account, and you’ll have the opportunity to change it. For your security, we only store an encrypted version of your password, so we have no way of sending you your original one.
