Shady banking system.
This review is for: TD Bank
Wait a second...
Ok, you work hard for your money, then try to save by bringing your money to this bank (TD).
Sadly, the teller behind the window is writing down your account number along with all of your account info; ssn, drv lisc number etc...
Additionally, the teller is working within a bank fraud ring and passing your identity to another so he/she can generate a phony id of you.
Furthermore, a runner is then brought to the bank and with all of your identification withdraws practially all of your savings from the shady teller (both are working together).
Somehow, I don' t seem to like that type of banking...
Google courierpost TD bank fraud for a variety of crime associated with TD bank.

Bill Payment checks from NEBRASKA - 2 weeks and waiting
This review is for: TD Bank
I instructed a payment two weeks ago.
After the check did NOT arrive I called CS and they say non nonchalantly "it mails from Nebraska".
This must be the place where USPS picks up once a week and takes an extra week to deliver.
Today, 2 weeks after initiating, Nada, no check arrived.
How much money is TDfunk making on this money that was charged to my account on day instructed?

TD CROOKS
This review is for: TD Bank
TD Bank does all they can do to strategically watch your account and wait for the moment to swoop in and Fine you . They will actually hold deposits and transfers to simply make other charges work in their favor . Please if you value your money STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK!!!!!!!!!!! IT SHOULD BE TD CROOKS!!!!! Also their computer systems are far out of date and their data days behind you can't count on their online banking or any Atm for anything close to a real time report. The service is equal to a loan shark ,, BEWARE STAY AWAY

Stay far, far away unless you love fees!
This review is for: TD Bank
I have been a customer for over 10 years, back when they were Commerce Bank. Since TD took over the customer service has been horrible and they are going fee crazy. I recently had a situation where they charged me for 3 overdraft fees ($105), when there was only 1 that was overdrawn, which was the 3rd one . They purposely put the highest amount through first so the smaller ones will bounce as well, even if the smaller ones were transacted first. I am tired of their games and ridiculous fees and will stay with Provident Bank who will actually give you free checking with interest. Even the big names such as Chase, Citibank and Wells Fargo are putting an end to this method of putting through the highest amounts first. They have really gone downhill.

Terrible customer service
This review is for: TD Bank
I have been with TD Bank for almost ten years now, and it's never been easy dealing with their customer service reps. My issues with them started about four years ago when I attempted to order checks from them.
With most other banks, this is a very easy and free thing to do. With TD Bank (which at the time was Commerce Bank), I was charged $50 in error for my first order of checks and it took the checks - literally - over a year to arrive at my house with the correct address and account information. The only reason I remained with them was because they were a customer of mine at work.
More recently, the issues have gotten much worse. I received a call last summer asking if I wanted to enroll in their Advance program, which would basically allow my checking account to be overdrawn. I didn't understand the specifics of the program and the rep grew upset with me, saying "most customers are joining this program," so I did. She explained that I would be charged $35 for each day my account was overdrawn, which was fine with me since that had almost never happened previously.
Last week, I learned the hard way that the rep was, in fact, incorrect and that the $35 charge was per transaction, not per day. I was $5 overdrawn on Monday at 10 a.m. when I checked my online account and went to deposit cash into my account at noon in order to avoid the $35 charge. By the next day, $210 in overdraft fees were tacked onto my account. Apparently 6 transactions took place on my account when I was $5 overdrawn, between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon. When I called to complain, I escalated to the director level and was blamed for the misunderstanding. They were willing to credit $70 of the $210, but that was all. Never have I experienced such terrible customer service.
I already began transferring my savings earlier this year but I just opened a checking account with another bank and cannot wait to close my account with TD Bank. I would not recommend them to anyone, even with their convenient hours. With online banking and other banks starting to have more hours of operation, it is not worth it to go with this joke of a company.

0 stars!
This review is for: TD Bank
Lets see if I can give this bank 0 stars...
First off, their website SUCKS!! It is the most ridiculous setup when trying to navigate.
Second, if you have glanced at any other posts here, you see tons of hidden fees. I love the $15 for going under $100 balance!! I am not collecting interest, so why should they always be able to have at least $100 of mine?
Third, if you want to cash rolled coins, you have to dump them into their coin collector! How lazy is this bank???
I've stood in this bank watching tellers do who knows what and then finally wait on me - NOT CONVENIENT!!
I have been a life long PNC customer with my personal account and have had ZERO prooblems over 20 years. No minimal balance, they reverse fees if you ask them to and their website makes sense! It amazes me how in this day and age a bank can be so awful when there are so many easy ways to be good.
Good riddance, I will be taking my fiancee's and my money to PNC!
PS-I tried to submit this and I have to give them at least one star, haha!!

Avoid This Bank!
This review is for: TD Bank
This bank has gone down hill big time since it merged with Commerce. I had been a member of Commerce Bank since before it was Commerce! It was friendly, and you got lots of personal service. Once TD took over, everything changed. Now you practically have to give them a pint of blood to cash a check. Also, I had an account with Commerce that gave me free checking. All of a sudden, now TD wants to charge me for my checks. What is this crap? I have three accounts with TD including a business account, and I have a LOT of money in there. I heard they even upped the free checking for people aged 50. Now you have to be 60. I'm searching for a new bank, and I'm yanking all my money out of this monstrosity.

A terrible financial institution.
This review is for: TD Bank
TD Bank was the first bank I had chose to open an account with, and after years of having my account, finally had the nerve to close it after being put through financial turmoil. I have recieved numerous hidden fees to which no one had ever helped me resolve and had to pay, CASH DEPOSITS lost, and very poor customer service. The last straw, was when I had went to the local branch to close my account, the representitive looked as though my business to their company amounted to nothing. Not once was I asked what they could have done to improve my satisfaction as to not lose my business; just for my social and identification. I would never suggest this bank to anyone. Period.

TD Bank - Bank of FEES
This review is for: TD Bank
When I first opened my account I was told it was a free checking account. I quickly learned that it is "free" unless your balance is under $100 during any point in your statement cycle. I've incurred this $15 fee a few times because I use my TD bank account as an extra account. I have automatic deposit set up which always covers in the event that my balance is under $100 but that does not matter at this institution. Even if your ending balance is over $100, you will get a $15 fee for going under during statement cycle. I also have a shared account with a family member which has a nice balance. When I called to speak with customer service I was told I could change my checking account to one that will only charge $3.99/mo. Are you out of your mind? I will not give 4% of my account to anyone, I'd rather take this account to PNC with my other accounts. I really felt this need to write this review for people who live paycheck to paycheck and would be greatly affected by the $15 fee. My suggestion is to go to your nearest PNC bank and open an account with them. I've had PNC for 4 years and I have never had any issues

TD Bank NOT America's most convenient bank
This review is for: TD Bank
My father passed away at the end of last year. He had a loan with TD bank that he paid off, and therefore a zero balance. I just received a bill of his with a $20 annual fee. When I called to close the account and have the $20 taken off they wouldn't talk to me unless I send them all kinds of crap. REALLY?! It's $20!!! Plus, I'm trying to CLOSE the account not USE it! Thank you TD bank for making an already very emotional and difficult time that much harder! I wouldn't bank with them if they were the last place I could go to save myself from dying.

STAY AWAY HIDDEN FEES
This review is for: TD Bank
I have had an account since 1995 with this bank. Every year there is a new way for them to gvie you hidden fees. Do not every bounce a check with this bank they will charge you so many different fees it will wreck your account. This bank is not even American so why do we put our money in it. Corporate greed at its best. BTW it is so obvious they have their employees doing their own reviews on here. Drafted by marketing and PR and posting. BEWARE DO NOT USE. If you have to pay fees for a banking account you should at least know what they are upfront and at least it should be American.

don't bank here!
This review is for: TD Bank
It would be a lengthy review if I were to write everything that this bank does wrong! So to sum it all up.... DON'T BANK with TD Bank!!! You will regret it! They are NOT helpful at all and they will charge you for stuff whenever they can. I am disputing something now even though I closed my account with them over a week ago. My next step is to contact the BBB. Does Regis and Kelly really bank with them???? I guess the right amount of money can get anyone to say nice, but not true, statements.

Appalling Nightmare!
This review is for: TD Bank
Since taking over Riverside National Bank of Florida, it has become an appalling nightmare of screwed up mortgages, escrow accounts, statements, etc. Repeated attempts to seek even basic information is met with The Worst Customer Service in the World. Phone calls, letters, in person visits -- makes no difference: NOTHING GETS SOLVED!
If any service is provided, its only so they can charge for it. Unbelievable. All the folks we steered to this bank are running for their financial lives.
We are so fed up, we are looking into a class action lawsuit.

AWFUL AND UN-ETHICAL

Even after CLOSING my account with TDbank due to them robbing my money to "fees", they re-opened the account without permission and started charging me fees again, UNBELIEVABLE, consumers BEWARE. Don't believe employee and corporate reviews.

Always friendly and helpful
This review is for: TD Bank
I would like to gush about the exemplary service and attention I just received at TD Bank. (I've been a customer of theirs since the acquisition of Evergreen Bank. Neither Evergreen nor TD has committed the sorts of abuses I used to suffer from Key Bank, so I continue to be a happy customer.)
I was buying a used car on Friday, far from home and the communications devices therein. I needed to get it road legal ASAP, but my insurance company's office was closing early, in advance of the three day weekend. The insurance agent didn't think we had time to get it done before Tuesday. So when I stopped for cash at the TD Bank in Corinth, NY, I asked the manager (Kara) if she could help me out with the use of a phone (I have no cell phone), and with sending and receiving faxes. Not only did she help me, she handled the faxes so quickly and attentively that my insurance agent and I beat the odds, and got the whole process done before the office closed.
As a consequence, I was able to use the car to greatly help out some loved ones. As another consequence, my opinion of TD Bank as a place where I can get great personal service has been strengthened.

THE WORST BANK I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!
This review is for: TD Bank
The customer service is the worst. They don’t listen to you, they constantly talk over you, and in the slim change they do fix your problem, your right back on the phone with them the next week with the same issue (or if you’re lucky a different issue). The way they claim to do business is completely false to the way the really conduct it. Half the time they state that they notified you on their ever changing policies and you never really got the info. And the other half of the time they hound you with calls from random 800 numbers and never leave a message or provided you with any new information when you do answer. Or if you call back, no one knows who or why they called you at all. Over and over again this bank has showed me their lack of commitment to not only the things they claim they are but most importantly the satisfaction of their customers. They should try to focus on the real issues instead of the glitz and glamour of advertizing and the short comings of answering a phone on the 3rd ring. This company is a number one example of a big business that doesn’t really care about you, just the money you give them! My recommendation is if you see the name TD BANK, run the other way.

Disappointed
This review is for: TD Bank
I was very disappointed this holiday season to find out TD Bank would not let me purchase Visa Debit cards just because I have a passbook account rather than a statement account. I might have to change banks. I guess I could change them over but it's the principle of the matter.

The Green Bank
This review is for: TD Bank
I joined the bank to get a free IPOD (part of an past promotion) and to get away from my previous bank - CIBC - which had been giving me lots of problems, I've been happy ever since (four years now), and haven't once considered switching again. My only bad experience with them so far was when I tried to get a mortgage and after having to wait a week for an appointment, I was given to a rude person that didn’t seem to want to talk to me and gave me the impression that they thought I was too young to bother with and would prefer to help older more profitable customers. We ended up figuring the situation out, and all other experiences with their personnel have been absolutely positive. There was even an extremely friendly teller that I became friends with since she always helped me whenever I went to the bank. My sister and parents have now also switched to the same bank, and we have shared online banking and loan each other money when needed. All in all, I've found the bank user friendly and convenient - something the whole family can agree on. I would recommend this bank to friends (and have recommended them to family) though I am not familiar with features outside of the standard checking and savings accounts and the visa cards. They've treated me well so far though, and when I need further services I'll know where to go!

TD has always met and surpassed the standards of private banking
This review is for: TD Bank
I was originally using Commerce Bank in West Orange, NJ until they were purchased by TD aproximatelly a year ago. Overall I haven't noticed much in a change of service besides their quicker response times in disputing withdrawals and getting me a new debit card. However, keep note that they will not provide much of a line of credit for students who don't make a decent salary
The great thing is that I go to college in Boston, and since they purchased TDBankNorth, there is seamless integration of my account both in MA and NJ, so I'm very pleased.
Just keep note that once you report your card lost/stolen you can't use the card anymore, even if you try to interrupt your own claim, so keep that in mind.
There is usually very little waiting time when you try to call the bank too, i'd say less than 7 minutes wait usually.
Whenever I go visit my grandfather in Florida, there are TD banks everywhere. So if you are doing your living on the east coast it would probably be foolish to choose anyother bank if you're moving around a whole lot. Throughout my experience with TD as a standard checking and debit account... I highly recommend it

Outstanding Bank
This review is for: TD Bank
I began banking with Commerce Bank prior to their merge with TD Banknorth. I was a little apprehensive as to the merger and was very concerned about the convenience of any other bank other than Commerce, as everything was becoming TD Bank rather than any Commerce association. However, I am incredibly pleased with the merger and have mainly good things to say about them.
My student checking was upheld, which allows me (until 25 yrs old) to have free checking with no minimum balance. I also have a savings account with them as well- most of my banking I do online, and their online system is phenomenal. I can transfer money immediately, schedule future transfers and track all posted and pending transactions.
In house, they are fantastic as well and I’ve never had to wait incredibly long for a teller or someone to help me. Their rates for certified checks are great and even though it’s a large bank, each branch I go to treats me as if they’ve known me all along. I appreciate that and I appreciate their help and dedication every time I have an issue.
The only not-so-good thing about the bank is that there have been a few times where they didn’t deposit my checks immediately as cash into my account, but that’s expected of most banks to be honest. For some reason, they also refused to clear the payroll checks as cash without authorization from the branch who deposited it incorrectly in the first place. This is annoying, but one just has to be aware of this problem and be sure that the amount was deposited as requested.
They are really willing to help customers out and I’d definitely recommend them as a bank to anyone because of their hours and customer service dedication.

Safe Simple Savings
This review is for: Statement & Passbook Savings
We have had our TD savings account for over four years now. We originally chose TD (then Commerce Bank) because of the great hours at the bank (late nights, and even Sunday hours). Although the account rate on a Savings account isn't very high, not too many banks nowadays have great rates. TD Bank is very convenient, with many locations and has great customer service. They are always willing to help with any questions I have.
My only problem is the low rate for Savings - If you have approximately $1,000 in your savings, you may only see a few dollars over the course of the year. I suppose you could try an online bank, such as ING, as they do have better rates. However, often times the online banks will adjust your savings rate periodically, so the rate you started with isn't the same you might have a few months later.
TD Bank has decent rates for CD's however. All of their tellers/staff are very helpful about starting new accounts. I like the convenience of knowing I can get home from work late and still make it over to the bank in time (most branches are open until 8pm during the week). Overall, I would recommend TD Bank for most of your banking needs.
