Botched auto loan denies me title to requires me to pay anyway.
This review is for: PNC Bank
I can't tell you strongly enough... Stay away from this bank. They can really ruin your life!
I had purchased/financed a used vehicle and they botched up the paperwork so badly that the manufacturer will not release the title, but they established the loan and still hold me responsible. I cannot drive or license my $33k car due to PNC's horrendous handling of the title work. And they are still holding me to the loan. It's been two months and no sight of a resolution. The manufacturer got their pay-off and they consider the car still owned by the prior owner, who is unreachable.
They are destroying my (once 811 score) credit... costing me thousands... and basically ruining my life. I'm so sick from this I cannot stand it. Attorney fees will be through the roof. This started with the PNC Branch on Henderson in Columbus, OH... and I has progressed to their upper tier loan centers with no resolution (all of PNC has been useless in trying to resolve this). Henderson Road, Columbus is horribly managed (well all of it is). And this after being an excellent customer with a prior vehicle.
PNC is heartless and will not resolve this. They simply say, "sorry". Find another institution to finance through. I just want to off myself due to these jerks. Save yourself the pain. These people are thieves!

BAD BANK
This review is for: PNC Bank
Worst ever. 83 year old father in law died. Poor guy owed a small home equity loan. We asked PNC to hold loan until we could sell the house. Everyone else the poor OLD guy owed said no problem. PNC said NO, we WILL FORCLOSE on the dead 83 year old guy for a 100 a month loan. We explained he passed away and agreed he owed the money. We only asked for them to wait until the house is sold, and everyone wa sOK with that. NOT PNC, I will tell everyone I can about PNC and about how mean they are. Other banks are OK with this when someone dies. If you deal with them you are putting your children in jeapordy when you die. If you owe one penny they will threaten your kids like they did us with FORECLOSURE.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
This review is for: PNC Bank
Had an acct with them for 3 weeks and ready to go somewhere else. Customer service stinks and they only care about getting your money. They could care less about you. They are holding deposits for days and I cant get the branch manager to call me back. Must be hiding in his fancy office, laughing his butt off, rolling in the money

Profiteering Banksters
This review is for: PNC Bank
I use automated online bill payments through PNC. I had three payments scheduled to go out on the same day, one large payment and two small payments. My available balance was smaller than the amount of the large payment. PNC made sure to process the large payment first so that the three payments caused overdraft fees of $25 apiece. However, if they would have cleared the two smaller payments first, there would have been only one $25 fee. I made a large cash deposit that same afternoon and all three payments cleared, but the $75 in overdraft fees remained. I have a savings account with PNC that had a large enough balance to cover all three payments, but I was hit with the overdraft fees anyways. Now I am online looking for a better bank because I don't want to be robbed again by PNC Bank.

A Great Deal!
This review is for: Free Checking
PNC is a great bank. I got my account when I moved to Washington, DC about 4 years ago because the bank was near my house. I discovered that I could get a checking account that was free when I used direct deposit and paid one bill per month online.
Plus, PNC refunds my ATM fees if I use an out of network ATM. That means that not only do I not pay any fees to PNC for going out of network, I also don't pay the fees that the ATM charges me. That's the best feature I've ever seen in any account.
I would like it if my bank branch had longer hours. Most people work full time, and it's hard to find time to go to the bank outside of business hours.
All of the bank personnel are very friendly and helpful. When I lost my ATM card, they sent me a new one in just a few days.
I would highly recommend this account to any consumer who has needs a checking account, uses direct deposit, pays bills online, and likes the flexibility to use any ATM anywhere in the nation for free. Everyone should have a bank account this great!

PNC Savings Worked For Me and It Can You Too
This review is for: Statement Savings
I started my savings with PNC a few weeks ago in June 2009 when I was awarded some money from an annuity settlement I had. The interest rates were good, and I was extremely glad that if I needed to I could draw from it in emergencies to an interest checking account. I was originally going to put it into a CD, however, after talking with someone at my local PNC branch, I decided to go with a money market account.
I have been with PNC bank since 2000 when I turned eighteen. I have had my checking account with PNC since then. I have only had one or two really horrible experiences with the bank and their customer service reps though. I recently opened the Virtual Account savings (also called a savings max) and interest checking because I am always overdrawing my accounts because I am horrible at balancing a check book. I was told I could use my existing free checking account and link it to the Virtual Account Savings and get overdraft protection. Apparently, this was not even possible for me to do. So, I overdrew my free checking account once again. I called customer service and told her the situation and also how I had 4 overdraft fees each costing me $36.00 because I thought all along the woman set me up for overdraft protection. Apparently, I did not have it and there was no possible way I could the way I was told. The new accounts I opened only protected each other. My free checking would have had to been linked to a separate checking account to be covered. Well, I was furious that I was lied to by another one of their employees. However, the woman I spoke with talked to her manager and finally refunded me my money. So, it all worked out after all.

PNC Bank is the very best bank I've used so far!
This review is for: Free Checking
I've been with PNC Bank since January 2008. I choose PNC Bank because I moved to a new apartment complex in a new neighborhood, and it was the closest bank I could walk to to my new townhouse rental. So far I have never had a problem with this bank like I did with all the others. The best thing about this bank is the customer service. Moving is a very anxious experience, and when I went in person to open this free checking account, the young man at the PNC branch on Bustleton and Byberry Road in Philadelphia PA, made me feel very much at ease. He took the time to explain everything to me in detail, he was very friendly and honest with me about everything, and he answered all my questions, even when I asked them more than once. Since then I have signed up for online bill paying and unlike all the other banks this bank pays your bills on time. Once when I ordered a product on the internet and used my PNC debit card, and then had a problem with the internet merchant, Sam's Club, PNC Bank worked with me to resolve the problem promptly and get my money back. They have never charged me a fee for anything. I highly recommend this bank to anyone and everyone who needs to open up a new account at a new bank.

Sneaky Bank
This review is for: Free Checking
I had opened a checking account with PNC about 6 months ago. My mother had warned me not to use them, since she had so many problems with overdrafts with them. I didn't listen and went with PNC anyway. It had many locations in my area, and seeing as how I am always on the go, this was a definite plus. However, this was about the only plus it had. The workers at the bank were very friendly and helpful. I told them I needed a checking account, however I did not need a checkbook. I feel that checks are a very outdated thing. They set me up with free checking, and gave me a Visa debit card. For about 2 weeks, everything was fine, then I got the dreaded overdraft notice in the mail. I was confused by this. How could my account be overdrawn? I had deposited my paycheck and only used my debit card once. I went down to speak with someone. Apparently, my paycheck was set to clear the same day I had used my debit card. I have never heard of overdrawing an account with a debit card. I figured it wouldn't let you take out money that wasn't there. The funny thing was though, on the statement, my paycheck had cleared almost immediately after I made the withdrawal. I argued this fact with them, and accused them of doing it on purpose. They denied it, and I closed my account that same day. This was the exact problem my mother had warned me about. I wouldn't recommend this bank to anyone. If you do, however, open an account with them make sure you check that your money is available before you withdraw it, or they will hit you with every fee they can. I don't feel that this bank cares about its customers. It seems more interested in making money.

Big Bank, Local Feel
This review is for: Free Checking
I began banking with PNC in 1981 when I went off to college. I chose PNC (then Pittsburgh National) because it was close by and my parents banked there. I have watched this bank grow over the past 25 years into a major player in the financial world. However, at my local branch office, it’s business as usual. Personal, friendly service provided by neighbors who are never pushy or seem hurried. It’s a pleasure to go into the branch and be greeted with kindness and efficiency.
I make good use of the PNC online banking services, also free with my accounts. I can easily transfer funds from one account to the other, monitor my daily spending, see what has cleared and what hasn’t. I can pay my bills through the site, set up recurring payments and stop payments with ease.
Now my children are in college and have PNC accounts which are all linked to my account. I never have to worry about whether a payment makes it to the school on time because I can transfer the money to children’s accounts and they walk the check over to the financial aid office. If they need something in a pinch, I don’t feel helpless to provide it as it’s as simple as logging on to my account and transferring the funds.
On more than one occasion, when I have purchased big ticket items with my debit card, linked to my free account, I have gotten a phone call from PNC verifying my purchase. This is part of their fraud protection program and is a valuable service. 24 phone service has answered every banking question I have ever had.
I honestly don’t see myself banking anywhere else, as long as PNC is an option for me.
