Horrible Customer Service
This review is for: MetLife Bank
Horrible Customer Service!
On hold for 3 hours!
It took them 2 weeks to reply to an email.
I hope this bank goes under.

Boooooooring
This review is for: High Yield Savings
This is a pretty plain jane savings account. I think it's most interesting attribute is that it has an optional ATM card.
Plain jane would be just fine if it had a great interest rate... but it doesn't. It's just... kinda... typical. I believe someone somewhere in a suit had the following conversation:
"Let's call it 'High Yield Savings.'"
"But it's not high yield at all. It's kinda average yield."
"How'd you like to be unemployed?"
"High Yield it is, sir, excellent choice of name."
There are plenty of accounts out there with sexier features and higher interest rates. I'd go with one of those.
Good luck with bank shopping... move along... nothing to see here...

Unamazing grace period
This review is for: Standard CD
The rates on this CD are unspectacular. Some rates for various terms and quantities of cash are fine (read: you can do better without much effort). Some are real bad (read: you can't do worse without some effort).
I'm mostly just annoyed about the CD rollover. They offer a 10-day grace period at the end of your term to withdraw your cash without it rolling over into another CD. Fine. But, at least as far as I can tell, they don't offer any sort of reminder that that is happening. This isn't very rare, but it makes me much less pleased with the bank than with EverBank or Ally, both of whom email you when you're money is going to rollover.

Better Options Out There
This review is for: Money Market
I'm not sure why anyone would want this account.
There is a $15 monthly fee that can only be avoided with a $1,500 balance. They reimburse ATM usage, but only $5 - which is essentially 2 ATM stops. There's different interest rates for different balance amounts with pretty poor rates at the low end, and - a huge pet peeve of mine - they prevent other banks from withdrawing money from the account (which means I need to use their system to move my money around).
Compared to an EverBank YieldPledge Money Market account, or even an Ally Money Market Savings, MetLife's Money Market just doesn't compare in fees, features or interest rates.
The 2 stars are for giving the first set of checks for free...
