Better Options Out There
I'm not sure why anyone would want this account.
There is a $15 monthly fee that can only be avoided with a $1,500 balance. They reimburse ATM usage, but only $5 - which is essentially 2 ATM stops. There's different interest rates for different balance amounts with pretty poor rates at the low end, and - a huge pet peeve of mine - they prevent other banks from withdrawing money from the account (which means I need to use their system to move my money around).
Compared to an EverBank YieldPledge Money Market account, or even an Ally Money Market Savings, MetLife's Money Market just doesn't compare in fees, features or interest rates.
The 2 stars are for giving the first set of checks for free...
