Not quite an internet banking leader
giantbank.com is the online division of Landmark Bank in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The title for the webpage says "Online Banking: No Lines. No Limits" - they're clearly going all in for the online banking angle, which makes it surprising that they're so behind on it.
To start - they don't have an ACH system - which I suppose allows them to market the "No Limits" phrase, because if you don't have a system, you can't have limits!
Then there's statements - interim account activity is available online, but whether I like it or not - I'm getting paper statements - seems a little pre-internet, no?
Finally, the application process - start by filling out the application online, then...print it, sign it, and mail it in with a check for the initial deposit - and expect a hard credit check with that.
Now I don't want to seem overly harsh on giantbank - there are plenty of other banks that are missing some of the same things that giant does, but its their marketing of the bank as a complete online banking option, and then failing to deliver that leaves the bad taste in my mouth.
