It sure counts
I have to say I would rate Citibank not based on this checking account but more on overall products and service from employees. I have always had a good interaction with their employees, whether at a branch or on the phone. Their online banking is great, making payments is a breeze, and seeing your current bank status is easy. The only thing that brings their rating down in my eyes is the fact of the $25 fee, which for me is waived as I have a HELOC with Citibank. I would explore other types of Citi accounts if I should not have that waiver. They also have an overdraft protection that is a line of credit that is drawn against should you need it and there is no fee other than interest charge past the day it is utilize. So if you utilize and transfer money from one of your account to the overdraft protection you have no fees or charges. I had to utilize this 3 times as I misjudged the timing of certain autopay I have depositing into my checking account and hence my discovery of this feature.
